Latest award of the Isobel Lattimore Textile Bursary
In 2023, The Huntingdonshire Arts Society established a fund, started by a generous donation of £1,000 from Professor Colin Lattimore, in memory of his wife, the late Isobel Lattimore, for many years the group leader of the active and accomplished Embroidery Volunteers.
The Hunts Arts Committee decided to make an annual award to an A Level student displaying a high level of academic, creative and artistic promise in textiles, and intending to pursue his or her studies at university level.
This year, members of the HuntsArts Committee were invited to view the end of year exhibition of work by the A Level Fashion Textiles students at Long Road Sixth Form College. The committee thought the work exhibited exceptional, and are delighted that the bursary has been awarded to Jess Laws, who is continuing her studies at the University of the Arts, Central St. Martin’s, in Fashion and Textiles.’
